Yena Choi began her violin training at the age of three and has since built an impressive career in both classical and contemporary music. Yena holds a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours, studied at the Australian National Academy of Music, and was awarded an Australian Postgraduate Scholarship for a Masters in Philosophy of Music. She has worked professionally with major Australian orchestras, London's Royal Opera House Orchestra, Academy of St Martin In The Fields, and BBC Concert Orchestra.

Yena’s global performances span venues like the Sydney Opera House and London's Royal Albert Hall, and she has played for figures such as US President Barack Obama, the Dalai Lama’s family, Indian PM Narendra Modi, and four Australia Prime Ministers. In 2021, two of Yena’s original recordings were taken into space on Blue Origin Mission NS-18.

Beyond the classical realm, Yena has collaborated with touring artists such as Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, Hans Zimmer, Michael Bublé, Ed Sheeran, Ms Lauryn Hill, Rüfüs Du Sol, Matteo Bocelli, Hugh Jackman, Diana Krall, Rita Ora, Kygo, James Blunt, Neil Finn, Ricky Martin, Hanson, Maribou State, Michael Bolton, and Australian artists such as Tina Arena, Guy Sebastian, Delta Goodrem, Parkway Drive, Peking Duk, G Flip, Amy Manford, Jess Mauboy, Amy Shark, Boy & Bear, Hollow Coves, and Gang of Youths. She served as a violinist for Hamilton in Australia and is concertmaster of the Dan Fontaine Orchestra.

Appearing in feature performances on The Ellen Show, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Amazon Music UK, Yena is also a regular session musician for Australian Idol, The Morning Show, Sunrise, The Today Show, Fox TV, Triple J's Like A Version, The Voice, and Dancing With The Stars. She has performed at The ARIAS, Logie Awards, GQ Man Of The Year Awards, and various national sporting events.

In her capacity as a contractor in Australia, Yena fixed Maribou State’s 2019 tour, as well as the 25th anniversary tour of The Miseducation of Miss Lauryn Hill. Yena has worked as an entertainment producer and creative collaborator for Cartier, Bvlgari, Tiffany & Co., Range Rover, Patek Philippe, Gurner Group, CEO Magazine, and she is a regular performer at Australian Fashion Week.

Passionate about social outreach, Yena has toured regional Indigenous communities, and supports animal welfare through annual performances with The Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation.

Yena is currently a Commonwealth-appointed Board Director of the Australian National Academy of Music. Yena plays on a 1690 Tononi violin.
